1What we can act on
We can act on content we host or distribute: apps published in OwnWeb Apps, their listings, and pages published through OwnWeb’s hosting.
We cannot act on websites you reach with the browser, or on content stored on people’s own devices or in their encrypted sync data, because we do not host the first and cannot see the second.
2Sending a notice
If you believe something we host infringes your copyright or trade mark, send us a notice that includes:
- Your name, and the name of the rights owner if you are acting for someone else.
- The work or mark you say has been infringed.
- Where the infringing material is: the name of the app, or the address of the page.
- A way for us to reach you.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner or by law.
- A statement that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
For copyright notices, write to dev [at] ownweb [dot] io.
3What we do with it
We review a complete notice promptly. If it is valid we remove or disable the material and tell the developer or publisher, including who sent the notice.
Developers confirm before publishing that they have the right to distribute their app, and the source of every published app is reviewed. A developer who infringes repeatedly loses the right to publish.
4If your content was removed
If you think material of yours was removed by mistake, reply to the message we sent you with your reasons and a statement that they are true. We pass your response to the person who complained. If they do not tell us within a reasonable time that they have started legal action, we may restore the material.
Sending a notice or a response that you know to be false may make you liable for the harm it causes.
