Refund policy

We do not give refunds. This policy sets out the two exceptions, the 14-day limit for asking, and what happens to wallet credit and subscriptions.

1The general rule

We do not give refunds. Purchases in OwnWeb are final: apps, in-app upgrades, plans, subscriptions and wallet top-ups.

This includes a change of mind, something you no longer need, a wrong choice, and something you did not use. Most of OwnWeb is free, and paid apps say what is free and what is paid before you buy, so please try the free part and read the listing first.

2The exceptions

  • You were charged in error: twice for the same thing, the wrong amount, or without your authorisation.
  • The law where you live gives you a right to a refund that cannot be excluded.

In either case you must ask within 14 days of the charge. After 14 days we do not consider a request, unless the law gives you longer.

3How to ask

Write to us from the email address of your account, with the order reference shown on the order, within 14 days of the charge. Say which exception applies and what happened.

For refund requests, write to dev [at] ownweb [dot] io.

4Where an approved refund goes

  • Paid by card: to the same card.
  • Paid from your wallet: to your wallet, unless the law requires it to go back to your original payment method.
  • Paid partly with promotional or gift credit: that part is returned as credit, not as money.

Card refunds can take several working days to appear, depending on your bank.

5Wallet credit

Wallet top-ups are not refunded, including credit you have not spent. Wallet credit does not expire and can be spent on anything in OwnWeb. It cannot be transferred to another person or withdrawn as cash.

Promotional credit, gift credit and the value of discount codes are never refunded or exchanged for money.

6Apps and in-app upgrades

When an app purchase is refunded, your access to the paid app or paid features ends. Features the app offers for free remain yours to use, and data you created stays on your device.

An app bought as part of a bundle is refunded with the bundle, not on its own. If you already owned part of a bundle before buying it, a bundle refund gives you back what you owned before.

7Plans and subscriptions

You can cancel a plan or an app subscription at any time in your account. It stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed. There is no cancellation fee.

We do not refund the unused part of a period or a renewal. Cancel before the renewal date if you do not want to be charged again.

If a paid plan ends, cloud data within the storage allowance you still have stays. Only what is over it is removed from the cloud, after a 30-day grace period. Everything on your devices stays.

8Purchases through an app store

If you bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store took the payment and handles any refund under its own rules. Ask the store directly.

9Chargebacks

If you think a charge is wrong, contact us first; it is usually quicker. If you dispute a charge with your bank, we may suspend the purchase concerned, and the account if the dispute is unfounded, while it is decided.
